Our 5-year-old has been taking John’s fencing class for the past two months, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He manages to keep half a dozen kids with the attention spans of mayflies fully engaged through an hour-long class in the middle of a bustling public park. And he makes it fun.
They learn to lunge, parry, riposte, and salute–all the basics of fencing. Somehow, he gets them to focus and adopt the proper form. He leaves no one behind. He’s endlessly patient, good-humored, alert, and attentive.
